Issues of Health and Safety are paramount to us, ensuring that your child is adequately protected at all times.

Both of us are qualified paediatric first aiders, holding a certificate for a 12 hour course, which is renewed every three years. Sharon also holds a food hygiene qualification which is regularly renewed. Our kitchen has been inspected by KHCC Environmental Health and approved for the preparation of food.

Richard holds an IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Managing Safely qualification. All rooms, activities, and trips are risk assessed, and control measures put in place to avoid potential hazards. (Click here for further details on IOSH)

All three floors of the house have an interlinked mains electric (with battery back up) smoke detection system in accordance with current Building Regulations Part B. The system is checked for operational performance once a week.

A fire blanket is fitted within the kitchen in accordance with Ofsted guidelines. .

All glazing within the home is safety glass where called for by current Building Regulations Part N, i.e. “critical locations” with glass being manufactured to BS6206A.

Smoking is not permitted within the house or the garden under any circumstances.
